Not long after the original 16-bit masterpiece was unleashed on the world was an 8-bit counterpart of Sonic the Hedgehog ready to market. This version is actually significantly different from the original game, with most of its music and zones unique to it, not to mention several gameplay adjustments made to maximize Sonic's blurring appearance on the platform. The Master System edition is different from the Game Gear equivalent, with many changes made to level layout and more detailed backgrounds in exchange for a weaker color palette.
