Sonic Roms Guide
Title Screen Hill Top Ice Cap Milky Way

Yes, it's a sequel, and no, we didn't get the first one. What game would that be? Well, I'll give you more hints...despite that we barely had any hard evidence pointing to the existance of the first game, Sega of America decided to keep the numeral in the title. It also has an expanded cast in contrast to the original's cast of Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Eggman. Now Knuckles, Fang, and Metal Sonic have joined us for some pocket excitement. What, you still haven't guessed it? Do I really need to mention the actual title in bold like I always do? People never listen to me anymore! They think I'm crazy, they think they're sane. I can't take it anymore! So what if I need to keep the format standard? Why does that always drive me to sacrificing my pride and dignity in the name of consistency? Should I just come out and say "Sonic Drift 2" just because I always say the title? There, I did it! I'm so predictable now! The thrill is gone!

Rom Variations

Sonic Drift 2 (International) (1995)
Although Robotnik is called Eggman in here, Sega of America didn't deem it necessary to modify the rom at all to give him his Western alias. Still, the rom is technically marked as Japanese. Also, Drift 2 was known as "Sonic Drift Racing" in Europe, but that was only on the packaging and the rom was also left untouched (in line with Shining Force II: The Sword of Hajya). Therefore, we should have three roms here, but we only have one. Lazy little...

Sonic Drift 2 (1 Alternate) (International) (1995)
This rom is simply an alternate version of the same game. What changes might we find here? Maybe the mysteries of the universe solved, the secrets of the ancients revealed? Knowledge, power, treasure? Perhaps a few altered bytes and a different checksum?
